Yuiko Masukawa

Yuiko, started her training in both Ballet and Contemporary dance originally in Japan, before moving to Canada and America to continue her studies. In 2006 she was accepted to compete in the Beijin International Ballet Competition, one of only three Japanese dancers to participate. During her time in Canada she was awarded a scholarship to train in America with Boston Ballet Summer School where she moved in 2007. In 2009 she was accepted into the West Australian Academy Of Performing Arts and whilst there has performed in "The Nutcracker suite" - Clara's Dream (Choreographed by Kim McCarthy), Proofsheet (Choreographed by Natalie Weir), A Listening World (Choreographed by Tim Harbour), and as principal in "Landtemps" (Choreographed by Andries Weidemann), before graduating in 2010. More recently, Yuiko has been performing with the Melbourne Dance Theatre and looks forward to her time at the Tasmanian Ballet Company in 2011.
