Carmelo Mantarro

Carmelo spent his early years dancing at the Utassy Ballet School. He went on to study dance full time at the victorian College of the Arts and completed his Bachelor Degree in 2008, working with Melbourne based choreographers such as Neil Adams, Stephanie Lake, Anna Smith, Becky Hilton and Philip Adams. In 2007 he also performed at the Macau Fringe Festival with the VCA ensemble. In 2008 Carmelo was chosen to perform Jonathon Taylor’s neoclassical pas de deux ‘Sweet Sorrow’ for the VCA’s 30th Anniversary Season. He has performed with the ACB’s productions of ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ and 'The Nut Cracker' in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 Carmelo joined Melbourne Dance Theatre Company, where he has played various roles including Prince Siegfried in 'Swan Lake' and Romeo in 'Romeo and Juliet'. |
